Where Have I Been for 28 Months? Part 1

So here, now, at the end of October 2025, I have decided to return or maybe at least up date this little web presence. A funny thing happened in June 2023. Colleen and I impulse bought a house. We had no plans to move. We loved our little Cotswold Cottage on Weaver Avenue. But on a Friday after lunch at some restaurant I now forget, Colleen mentioned that she had seen a listing of a house in town with an acre of land. Why not drop by and look at it? We did, without a realtor, just popped over, walked around the heavily wooded lot that obviously someone had cared about and enjoyed gardening in. We called our realtor, looked inside the house—a sixties ranch that needed some updating. We made an offer, and by Sunday night, our bid was accepted. And thus ended my “Reading My Friends” podcast and I thought the online presence of “The Four Door Lounge.” After all, 4doorlounge.com was premised on the fact that my literary life was in that building and garden I had built on Weaver Avenue. For 28 months, I have been pondering how to move on, what new webpage I could create, who I was a guy who picked around with words. For 28 months, no answers, so I return to this web page, and just accept the fact that the Four Door Lounge is a moveable concept, more a state of mind than a
