Four Poems for Del Mar College

In 2013 I was honored to be invited to read at Del Mar College’s quite distinguished reading series. But I am told I broke the camera and nothing but memory and good feelings remained of that day. The wonderful poet Alan Berecka asked me to fill in the gap in the college’s video library during the pandemic, as the college, in that dire time, kept spirits up by posting their old recordings. Last Work

This is a video reading of the complete book, Last Work. Thanks to Andis Applewhite for design of the book and permission to use images from the last paintings by Neal Adams. Neal was diagnosed with cancer and painted these works in the final months of his life. Neal was my high school friend and college roommate and life long friend. This book and reading is a tribute to his imagination, talent, faith, and courage.
